Thailand Preps For Re-Opening on July 1st

June 29, 2020

After over a month with 0 local infections, Thailand has geared up to launch Phase 5 of re-openings. This means bars, clubs and ‘those’ massages parlors will resume business on Wednesday 1st.

What else? The state of emergency will also be extended for another month throughout July just to be safe.

Phase 5 is pretty much the final destination, department stores will be able to operate within their regular hours (was it just us that thought it feels normal already?), bars and clubs will also re-open but with a handful of criteria and regulations. For us, going out has been the new staying in since lockdown began.

Another important point; business travellers will potentially be allowed into Thailand, but whether they will be subject to 14 days quarantine is still being discussed. Tourists won’t be allowed at this point in time, although discussions for ‘travel bubble’ has been brought up.
