Buddy Thai app is Thailand’s very own mental health and wellness platform. It promotes mental well-being for kids through features such as behavior tracking and gamification. Buddy Thai app is on a mission to create a safe space and community for all through a series of offline events, from talks to exhibitions.
Fresh off its collaboration with bus schedule live tracking platform ViaBus for Pride Month, Buddy Thai continues its mission as a safe community to encourage young generations to emphasize the importance of mental health and the concept of being your true self.
With this in mind, Buddy is heading up North for this unique collaboration to partner with Joodpakjai, a cafe and creative space in Chiang Mai for a special exhibition, “Hug”, with
Teay – Prapassorn Kanjanasoot (Teayii) and Pataradanai Setsuwan (Koen). The exhibition is based on the belief that everyone deserves a warm ‘hug’.
On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Buddy participated in a talk that will showcase artworks that reflect the perspective of embracing a borderless world without gender discrimination.
The session highlighted the importance of showing love an affection throughout Pride month to encourage inclusivity and embrace individuality to promote an accepting environment for better mental health. During the session, PJ – Harisawan Siriwong, Managing Director of the BuddyThai application, also shared her own experiences together with Teayii and artist Koendanai, as well as special guest Pentor Jeerapat, a talented singer and actor. One of the key topics Koendanai and Jeerapat discussed was managing mental health in the spotlight, where both artists had to overcome hurdles and prove themselves many times in the industry.
The event stressed the importance of positive thinking and building self-motivation for yourself, as well as the importance of community, one which uplifts you when you’re down or going through hard times. Beyond this, exerting control over things you have power over is key (such as your own actions and reactions), and do not worry over things beyond your control. It’s worth noting that mobile phones can be used to help you during these times, with the right apps, you can seek out necessary help.
Following the panel discussion, the session opened up for Q&A, in which panelists were able to interact with attendees in a safe and encouraging environment, like truly receiving a hug.
